I am excited to share an opportunity to join our Functional Materials and Energy Devices Research Group (FMED) at UCL as part of the Horizon Europe (EIC) SUNPROM project.
🔬 Position: Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Electrochemical Materials and Devices for Solar Fuels
📍 Location: UCL, London
📅 Closing date: 1 October 2025
This role offers the chance to work on a groundbreaking integrated solar-driven device that converts atmospheric CO₂ directly into methanol under ambient conditions. You will:
- Develop and characterize novel electrode materials
- Advance scalable fabrication processes for multifunctional gas diffusion layers
- Work at the intersection of materials chemistry, electrochemistry, and device engineering
- Collaborate with a world-class European consortium of universities and SMEs
We are looking for highly motivated candidates with a PhD in Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Materials Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Physics, with strong hands-on experience in electrode fabrication, electrochemical testing, and product analysis.
This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to research that aims to redefine sustainable fuel production and support the transition to net-zero.
